The Ouzoud quad expedition is one of the most ambitious off-road adventures in the central High Atlas, and over two full days it takes you far beyond the reach of standard day trips. Starting from the Ouzoud region, this expedition links some of Morocco's most striking mountain destinations, Taghia, Zaouiat Ahenssal, Demnate, and the green valley of Ait Bougmez, into a single ride. It is built for travelers who want real distance, real terrain, and real Berber landscapes under the wheels of their quad.
Day one begins with a thorough safety briefing and riding instructions before you head out into the mountains. The route winds through stone villages, river crossings, cedar slopes, and high passes, with stops to rest, photograph, and absorb the silence. Lunch is served along the way, and as the afternoon light softens you'll roll into your overnight base. Dinner is shared in a local guesthouse, a gîte, auberge, or host family home, where the conversation, mint tea, and home-cooked tagines are part of the experience. Travelers who prefer a wilder evening can request the bivouac option at no extra cost.
This expedition does not include hotel pickup. Riders meet directly at the starting point in the Ouzoud area, where your guide hands over the quad, gear, and route plan. Two full riding days, with a generous overnight pause in between, give the trip a natural rhythm, you ride, you rest, you eat, you ride again. The total experience runs across roughly 48 hours from meeting to drop-off, with the actual saddle time spread across both days so the pacing stays human.
The route is graded medium difficulty, which means it suits riders who already feel comfortable on a quad and want longer, more demanding terrain than a one-hour desert loop. It is a strong fit for adventurous couples, friends traveling together, and Morocco repeat visitors who have already seen the medinas and want a deeper look at the mountains. Day two adds a guided hike, so a moderate level of fitness is also useful. First-time quad riders are welcome but should expect a real workout rather than a gentle introduction.

Basic riding confidence is recommended; this is an off-road mountain expedition, not a beginner intro.
Bring warm layers for cool evenings, sunscreen, sturdy hiking shoes, sunglasses, and a refillable water bottle.
Pack light, a small overnight bag is best for the guesthouse or bivouac stop.
The route may adapt to weather, trail conditions, and rider pace.
Bivouac is available on request at the same price, with a more basic comfort level.
